It would be good for whoever has the opportunity and ability to pressure government officials of the country about taking action for helping all of the (previously wooded) areas that were burnt this year (as well as last), during forest fires, as of September. This must take place before people start building illegal residences in these areas and many suggestions are needed in order for things to get done this year!
Η δική μου άμεση πρόταση είναι : Να ορισθούν από το Υπουργείο Παιδείας με συνεργασία με τους κατά τόπους φορείς (Δήμους, Πυροσβεστική Υπηρεσία, Εθελοντικές Οργανώσεις, Συλλόγους Γονέων και Κηδεμόνων) ημέρες αναδάσωσης για όλα τα σχολεία (δημοτικά, γυμνάσια ,λύκεια – δημόσια και ιδιωτικά-) της εκάστοτε περιοχής για να πηγαίνουνε με συνοδεία των εκπαιδευτικών τους οι μαθητές(και ας είναι στην αντικατάσταση ενός σχολικού περιπάτου), στις καμένες περιοχές, να περπατάνε τα παιδιά μέσα στα καμένα και να βλέπουνε – ζούνε άμεσα την καταστροφή (καλή η τηλεόραση αλλά δεν μπορούμε να μπούμε στο πετσί του ρόλου) να νιώσουνε στο πέλμα από τα παπούτσια τους την στάχτη και η μυρωδιά του καμένου να τους μείνει στο βάθος του μυαλό τους για πολλά χρόνια και να τους επηρεάσει και ίσως τους ταρακουνήσει για το ΙΔΙΟ τους το μέλλον. Ο κάθε μαθητής να φυτέψει ένα τουλάχιστον δέντρο, να νιώσει έστω και λίγο οικολόγος – κηπουρός – αγρότης – «σωτήρας» του πλανήτη!!!
My suggestion is: Collaboration amongst the Ministry of Education and various local institutions and services (such as fire stations, volunteer workers, parent- teacher associations etc) for carrying out reforestation days involving schools (elementary schools, secondary schools and high schools- public and private) throughout most of the burnt areas. This should be carried out with the help of educators as they will be able to chaperone and help the students live and feel the experience of disaster- smell the burnt soil, feel the soot on the bottom of their feet- thus carving a memory deep into their minds. This experience could stay with them for a lifetime and even keep them shaken up for the benefit of their own future. Each student should plant at least one tree and feel like an ecologist- gardener- farmer- "savior" of the planet.
